Well as you can see.. it’s a beautiful day, with the perfect view!
I am literally writing this post on the beach in front of the Pacific Ocean. Waves rolling in crashing against the sand. Ah now that’s soothing. That oddly enough for a prairie girl is one of my favourite sounds. But like the real thing, not the one you get on a meditation disc and in 2 minutes it stops, playing the ‘please turn to side b’.
And just to clarify, I’m actually writing in a good old fashion notebook and pen! I’m not sitting on the beach with a laptop! I probably look like Harriet the spy to some people, if they know who that is in NZ. Sitting here, looking up, watching people, writing things down and so on. I feel I look like a real writer and since that sounds a little less juvenile, ill go with that one 😉
Anyways…this is my view..Waikuku Beach in New Zealand. After about a week of being here I finally got to see the ocean! A 13 minute bike ride from Chris’ parents’ house. And I have to say it is the perfect spot to sit and write and even better when it’s for my first blog post (yay!)
So now that you know where I am actually situated, I should probably introduce myself! I’m Lauren! Hi! Author of this new blog, which I am very excited about! There are so many things I want to share with you about my life, who and where I am, what I’m doing, where I’m going and how to do it all! Well sort of :p
If you’ve ever heard the song by journey, ‘just a small town girl, living in a lonely world, took the midnight train going anywherrreee… don’t stop believin, hold on to that feelin’.. well that’s me. Maybe not so much a lonely world as I have amazing family and friends but I am that girl who always dreamed bigger. Who dreamed of all the things outside of my safe Canadian life. Don’t get me wrong I’m still dreaming of course, as we all should be. But I’ve finally taken some of the ‘oh I’ll do that one day’ and put it into action which in case you haven’t picked up on it, is the fact that I am here in New Zealand, on the other side of the world (I will give some credit to my wonderful boyfriend who is a Kiwi!) . Which is a big deal to me.
Before I completely run away with my thoughts though, I’ll leave it at that for now. I invite you to join me on my adventures, travels and how to stay fit and healthy in amongst it all. I’ll leave it up to you to follow me as I take life on, one day at a time.
Cheers !*
