He’s got to get away. John runs as fast as can until he reaches a cliff and heaves himself down. Rocks are slipping. His hands are sweating. Looking below, the river is moving so fast, it is mad, it’d suck anything in. He hears the sound of a helicopter. They’re coming for him. Johns toned and muscular military body is sweating. He’s just hanging there. Nowhere to go. Shots fired. His hand slips. They’re getting closer and the gun is pointed right at him, he has to do something… he lets go. No Rambo nooo!! Maybe it’s just me, but I happen to think[...]
Moraine and Louise.. no I’m not talking about some kind of sequel and replacing Thelma but given the amazingness of these lakes (yes I made up a word), if they were people they’d be just as badass as the two wild ladies from the 90s. And just like those adventure seekers stuck together, in my mind so does these two lakes. They’re practically lake neighbours anyways. If you’re in Banff you can’t see one lake and not the other. I’ve spent quite a bit of time hiking since I’ve been here in the South Island. One hike/walk a weekend. I hate the gym and I love chocolate. I don’t like weights but I like amazing views so my alter[...]
New Zealand has this super cool place (among many) called Queenstown. It’s FULL of people from EVERYWHERE. I say that without any exaggeration. It’s a fun, self-proclaimed adventure capital of the world. They even have their own website. Chris and I spent one night in Queenstown. We got there in the late afternoon on a Sunday and were gone by 10 am the next day. It was quick… We did manage to get some touristy things in which I have to say I was kind of dying to do. I really haven’t been a tourist before. I’m a prairie girl… I’ve been out of th[...]
